Don't know if anyone here is familiar with Japanese Pop or something else in a fun, ecletic mode-think Gruppo Sportivo goes Japan. (Glenn Sadin around?) Or maybe some Beach Boys influenced music.

I have pretty much all of the Puffy music and Hideki Kaji and a decent amount of the Pizzicato Five. Oh yeah, Shonen Knife as well. 

One artist I was looking into on the fun, eclectic side is Modern Choki Chokies.

The cds can be Japan only-that's not a problem. 

bonus: know any good sites that talk about these releases or artists? Preferably in English. :)
