wait - before i forget - has anyone heard Calexico's
version of Love's "alone again or..." on their convict
EP? what an inspired cover choice for them, and not
just because of the convenient spots for mariachi
handclapping. god, i love calexico. more than i love
love, even.
also, steely dan lovers may want to check out Azita
Youssefi, whose solo from earlier this year sounds so
much like donald fagen sometimes it's downright eerie.
but she is all over the map, too, so there's something
for everyone. My friend Nick has been playing with
her sometimes, and he's been playing bass for nigh 20
years and is quite talented, and he calls her music
"hard." so. there you go.

tee hee...just a week or so ago, i sang this at a
