Hi Miguel...great thread! I have gotten a few autographs. I got Zola
Taylor's autograph (original Platters) when they were at a car dealer back
in the early '80s. I still have the glossy picture that she signed, too.
Also, when I was a teen, I used to go to the Golden Bear in Huntington
Beach, California, almost every weekend. I remember seeing the Lovin'
Spoonful when they were first starting out and we'd go out in the alley and
get autographs and talk to them all. What a thrill that was. I also saw
the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band many times when they were a jug band and I have
their autographs. Last year, I had the opportunity to see them down in San
Diego. Since I was in their fan club when I was 15, I took all my
memorabilia with me (yes, I still have it...lol). My sister-in-law knows
them all and there are three original members still with the group. They
enjoyed looking through all my papers and autographs from the fan club. I
have met Gary Puckett and talked with others after concerts, too. But, I
don't think anything will ever come close to that thrill of seeing the
musicians and getting their autographs when I was 15 or 16.

Thought I'd try to get a thread going on the topic of autographs and close
encounters... has any auditeer had an autograph encounter with a "star" and
actually been able to exchange a few words?... Well, even if this thread
stops right here I'll throw one in (to get it off my chest...lol)
A few years ago Paul Revere & The Raiders came to South Florida , there was
a meet & greet session after the show and I had brought with me at least 4
old original Columbia Raiders albums that were in almost mint shape... as
Paul signed them he told me "Man, I don't even have some of these myself"...
I don't know if that was a "hint-hint" "Can I have one?", but he was really
nice and we had our picture taken together too... I also met Peter Noone of
Herman's Hermits, very down-to-earth... Allowed me to snap his pic as he
signed... Any other encounters out there?
