Brinsley Schwartz is an excellent point of comparison for both Ray and
Walter. Ray Mason in particular is clearly an enormous Nick Lowe fan.

If anyone's interested, I think Ray Mason's 2002 album THREE DOLLAR MAN is
probably the best starting point, being his most consistently excellent
record and featuring "Blessing the Girl," which is probably his most
Audities-friendly song ever, and "I've Got a Good Dentist," one of those
oddball little roots-rock songs that sounds like it could have been on side
two of LABOUR OF LUST.
