Yes Stewart, I agree, Amy Allison is awesome, nasal voice and all. I have
all her solo albums, and they're quite good, but my favorite thing she ever
did was the gothic/techno/country duo PARLOR JAMES (with Ryan Hedgecock of
Lone Justice fame). It was like Gillian Welch meets Jim White. Amy has
referred to Parlor James' weird hybrid of music as Countr-onica......ha, ha.

Another great place to find Amy's singing is on the 1990 RCA self-titled
release by The Silos...her duet with Walter Salas-Humara on the song "The
Only Story I Tell" is lovely.

I saw Amy in concert last Fall (solo acoustic) and talked to her afterwards
and she was really cool in person.
