At the risk of resembling the know-it-all list curmudgeon I will point out that Mike's wonderful Slumberland label mostly existed in a suburb of D.C.. by the time he moved to San Francisco he was concentrating primarily on his dance label called Drop Beat and his job at Mod Lang.Eventually he opened his own store which was centered around the dance culture. He did sell some of his Slumberland label stuff out of that store but most releases around this period were compiliation cds of some of the moments of glory from the vinyl years or fulfillments of his previous commitments.
Black Tambourine were American shoegaze at its finest and birthed out of the same scene as Velocity Girl (who also started out on Slumberland and took their name from an early Primal Scream song).

np..Legends-Up Against the Legends (Swedish band fronted by ex Acid House Kings guy turning out a blend of early Creation Records bands such as Bodines,House of love,Sonc Flower Groove era Primal Scream, etc mixed with MBV and the Jesus and Mary Chain's poppier moments)
