Al Jourgensen from Ministry used to work at the Wax Trax on Lincoln in Chicago back in the early/mid-80's. Actually, several musicians on the label did as well.

Peter Holsapple used to work at Reznick's records in Winston-Salem in
the mid-70's.
Peter Buck worked at Wuxtry in Athens during the early days of REM. I
heard he did the odd shift there into their heyday.
