Tycoon's first album featuring "Such A Woman" was an okay album. Other than
"Such A Woman," there were only one or two songs that were memorable. I
thought the second album, "Turn Out The Lights," was a really strong album that
should have gotten some airplay. Tycoon songs would have fit nicely on the radio
in between Toto and Foreigner. Let the buyer beware however, the 2 CD set of
both Tycoon albums on Renaissance features different versions of the songs
that were on "Turn Out The Lights." Missing are numerous sax and guitar solos
and maybe even some of the background vocals. I can't remember exactly what is
missing because I only played the CD once or twice because I preferred the
vinyl versions a lot more.
By the way, Tycoon member Mark Rivera toured with Billy Joel as his sax
player at least from the early eighties well into the nineties.
