Hey Audities,
This is something special. Something precious and rare. Something that is
bound to go down in the annals of pop music history.
OK, not really.
But it promises to be fun. Rockin'. Full of good vibrations and more fun
than a backyard BBQ at Dick Cheney's house. What the hell is it, you ask?
It's the debut of Keagher at this year's Strawberry Festival in Garden Grove,
CA on Monday, May 31st from 2:00 - 5:00pm.
Now you may be asking yourself, "What's a Keagher?" I'm not sure I know what
it is. I can barely spell it, actually. But it's the name that my two pals
Robbie Rist and Severo came up with for this band that we've pulled together
to play at the annual Strawberry Festival, which is the largest community
sponsored event around these parts. They have lots of carnival games, rides,
booths, crafts, food (yummy strawberry shortcake!) and entertainment.
And now they have Keagher. Let me introduce you:
Robbie Rist (vocals, guitar): You all know Rob. If you don't, you should.
He's a ridiculously talented musician/producer/actor/voice over guy. He rocks
me in leather pants, as my dear friend Kerry Kompost would say.
Severo: (bass, vocals): Severo is about to go on a mini-tour as a bass
player for The Smithereens. Severo is a friend to all and one of the nicest guys
on the planet. He plays in lots of bands because he's too nice to tell people
no. That's why I asked him to do this. I hate rejection.
John Borack (drums): I can't really think of anything to say about myself.
I'll have to get back to you.
Anyway, if you're in the area and so inclined, come and check us out. The
Strawberry Festival is fun for the entire family and I bet that we'll be playing
some songs you know (and perhaps even a few that WE know). Songs from The
Knack, Plimsouls, Neil Young (!) and Tommy Tutone (among others) will be dusted
off and Keagher-ed..
And, to add to the festivities, Robbie will also be playing some of his
fabulous original material (he's got a new single out on Tallboy Records that is
quite cool).
So, here's the dope:
