MIRROR MOVES is rather fascinating in that rarely is a band's creative
dropoff quite so startlingly precipitous: side one of that album -- "The
Ghost In You," "Here Come Cowboys," "Heaven" and "Heartbeat" -- is just
outstanding, basically the finest sustained 20 minutes of the band's career
and a stretch of songs that distill and purify what had made the best parts
of FOREVER NOW so good. Side two of MIRROR MOVES is basically crap, and
the Psychedelic Furs never made another record that was worth the powder
it'd take to blow it to hell. Weird.
