Which just goes to show that preference in sound can vary as widely as
preference in music -- I HATED that mixing style on the early Prince records
(and I submit that he never really abandoned that unbalanced approach.) It
made all his stuff sound like it was being played through one of those steep
U-curve equalizer settings you saw in bad car stereos, boosted at the
extreme lows and extreme highs. Ugh. Good music, but often a chore to listen
to.

Drew,
who worked with a guy who hated Rick Astley and sang a lyrically altered
version of his first hit, addressed to Astley himself, called "I Am Gonna
Beat You Up."
