wait! i really like "Your Latest Trick," off of
Brothers in Arms. And also "Why worry." In fact, that
album may be partially responsible for the small place
I made for guitar wankery in my heart (well, that and
"Night at the Opera." okay, it's a big place in my
heart.) And I've always liked "romeo and juliet,"
too, though that might be because it was played to me
once on an acoustic gee-tar in a moment of serious
sap-osity.

The best version of "don't worry", however, is Mark
playing guitar for The Everly Brothers, circa the
"heartaches and harmonies" boxset ; reportedly, he
wrote the song for them (I'd love to hear the story
behind that.) MK and Chet Akins "neck and neck" is
also a fine bit of old-skool for those using blues
and/or bluegrass as a touchstone, too. I don't think
he "lost" his talent; as with everything else, ya like
it or ya don't.

phew. just had to speak up.
