VH1 has now made a show based on that Blender List of the 50 Worst Songs of
All Time, and it is one of the 50 Worst Shows they've made. Actually, I
usually like the shows they do where they collect a panel of talking heads
to make obvious, ironic comments, but in this case they don't give any
credit at all to the people writing the songs. It's as if they never
entertained the thought that the people writing the songs might have had a
sense of humor, too, and were joking around. It's not that I love "I'm Too
Sexy," but it's just a goof for God's sake! All the panelists are a bunch of
smug schmucks who no one has ever heard of (though a couple of them I have
seen in local comedy clubs, and they weren't funny there, either). The
constant criticism is how the lyrics are stupid, but you can rest assured
that among the 50 Best Songs are a bunch of songs with lyrics that could be
ridiculed just as easily.
