All along, or at least since 1999's excellent SOMETHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT
(which includes the classic single "I'm A Loner, Dottie, A Rebel") -- the
album before that, FOUR-MINUTE MILE, is also pretty much straight-ahead
power pop, but it's indifferently recorded and more lo-fi than I think the
band intended for it to be.
