Agreed....I was just mentioning "Cafe Bleu" (which was titled BLUE CAFE in 
Canada when it was released domestically....which is hilarious given that we 
are quite tolerant of the French :-)

What about the boxed set....isn't the 12" of Long Hot Summer on there?

Funny...I prefer the Cafe Bleu mix of "You're The Best Thing" without all 
the friggin' scratching and scatting that Weller added to it on the North 
American remixes...and he changed the vocal approach completely -- too 
slick. This is the one that radio still plays and I hate it....there's NO 
soul in those versions...different guitar solo as well.

I guess it's a tip-of-the-tip-of-the-hat....cause I found that Weller was 
doing a nice impersonation of Hall & Oates' "She's Gone". If you're gonna go 
Blue Eyed Soul who better to impersonate?

So the question remains....which one of these acts was actually trying to 
copy Motown (or was it PHILLY?)
