For sure. Sone of his stuff in the 70's was great and so creative and
emotional. He said he would stay away from too many exercises and too much
playing so that his hands did not play the same patterns and so he could
translate what was in his head to the guitar and not have the guitar dictate
those cliches which many players end up doing because the finger patterns
are so easy to memorize.
