Hi Steven,

To hear the sound of a cello weeping try Kodaly's Sonata for Solo Cello
op.8.  If you can get it on the same disc as his Duo for Cello and Violin
op.7 all the better.  There used to be a coupling of these pieces on the
Chandos label.  Haunting music.
