My 10 year old's favorite band is The Rosenbergs - buy anything from
them (Though her favorite is Mission: You).
Other thoughts - well, The Beatles have been mentioned as a universal
favorite (my 2 year old can recognize all, and sing many of the songs
from her favorite film, Help!), you can't go too far wrong there. I'll
second Devo - though I'll suggest that you find a volume of 80's hits
with Whip It (my kids listen to many different volumes of the Just Can't
Get Enough series - Capitol or Rhino, I think).
