Then an immediate suggestions for The Beatles. Good classic choice.

While I have no recommendation at the moment (perhaps scope the top 50 
sellers list in your local freebie paper...if you have such a 
thing...see what the "kids" are buying). I would strongly suggest TWO 
CD's: One, old school, The Beatles for example and one, modern OR even 
better give the Beatles for a present and take the kid to the record 
store and pick one together.
