My other recommendation is Sparkwood. They're just great fun. A recent
review described them as "Elephant 6 meets Patridge Family." Whatever that
means, I'm not sure. You can hear other influences such as Queen, Cheap
Trick, Jellyfish, Squeeze, Crowded House, etc. No tour plans yet outside of
Austin. But there are mp3s available on their website (www.sparkwood.com)
plus a video for the track, "Miles Away".

For those of you who attended IPO Chicago this weekend, I hope that you had
a chance to check Austin's own, The Golden Apples, yesterday at The Beat
Kitchen.

Cheers y'all,

Jennifer

Yeah, The Golden Apples were excellent! They're starting to remind me a lot of a Shazam-in-training, which is a very good thing!

I wholeheartedly agree with your Sparkwood recommendation as well. They're scheduled to play IPO in Los Angeles this coming July.
