:-D

That is too awesome, mate.......yr a gem. What a great symbol of
excellence and that Kansas pedigree is yielding the shudders here in rainy,
cold Colorado today!

I WILL say, I have put together my first band in 23 years this past
week....not played the drums but once in all that time(I am a shadow of John
Borack's greatness...'not worthy') but it's all about PUNK. The set list
consists of such titles as:
"pretty vacant"
"I'm stranded"
"down on the street"
"New Rose"
"sonic reducer"
"what goes on"

Be afraid, very afraid.

On a much more important note, last night The Figgs and Mike Viola/The Candy
Butchers came through Ft. Collins after being in Denver the previous night.
That show at the Larimer Lounge was a a ton 'o fun I heard from opening act
Ft. Collins' own, The Virginia Sisters, an excellent band that brings a very
good name to the words 'pub rock' with their blends of Graham Parker and
Warren Zevon(looking at the possibility of doing something w/ them even).

They played here at Tiki Bar that holds 50 people, a great place called The
Surfside 7. Sadly, about 25/30 people were there because the club across
the street had a free show from one of the guys in Descendents. But Mike
Viola did a great 'n very funny acoustic set of some of his finest songs(and
well-intentioned, humorous but wholly acerbic ode to Ft. Collins that few in
the room seem to pick up on). And a gem of a guy and major talent......The
Figgs(along w/ rotating members from the Butchers and Figgs) exploded onto
the place and stood atop counter tops and table tops and booths nailing
every note possible, giving it their all for the duly assembled until well
past 2am.

Biggest Fall Out is the nursing of Hamms-induced hangover. (hey, $1.50 a
pop, can't beat it! it's $1 across the street! the many upsides of Ft.
Collins)

Figgs have a new 2 CD set coming out and the material they played was
pretty darn excellent, folks!

Peace,
Bruce
