Yes, he used his real parents quite often in shows and videos, including
The Compleat Al.. I have that on VHS I bought in a bargain bin at Tower
Records a few year back.

They were in a lot of music videos as well. The first one I'm sure they
were in is "I Lost On Jeopardy" in the part where it says "you've
brought shame and disgrace to your family name for generations to
come"

There are some great Al DVDs out by the way, including the complete
video collection and a live DVD. Al also directs his videos as well as
videos by people like Ben Folds ("Rockin The Suburbs"), Hanson,
John Spencer Blues Explosion and others. Ben Folds cameos on Al's
last CD "Poodle Hat" and when I went to a special promo thing called
Bowling WIth Ben a few years back (where Ben played at a bowling
alley), Al came up and sang a couple of songs with him.

I still have a copy somewhere of "The Compleat Al" off of Showtime in the
mid 80's. Does anyone know if those were his real parents being
"interviewed" in this fake documentary or were those actors? They seemed to
speak like nonactors, but the nature of such a program leaves one unsure of

anything.
