Yes, it's true: Psychologists all over the world say the best way to relieve
the anxiety and sense of loss one suffers on Tax Day is to go see a pop
show, and there's no better one around on Thursday, April 15 than
International Pop Overthrow Presents at The Scene in Glendale, California!

Here's the lineup:

8:00 Mike Ruekberg-He was the leader of those well respected power poppers
from Minneapolis known as Rex Daisy, but has found a new home in Los
Angeles, as well regular appeareances with his band at The Joint opening for
several local luminaries. The tunes from his upcoming CD show that he's
grown even further as a songwriter, as they're filled with clever lyrical
imagery, passion, and stellar melodies. Some of these songs were featured
in the soundtrack to the film Dummy, starring Adrien Brody!

8:45 Annette Summersett-Like Mr. Ruekberg, this young gal left her Michigan
home to find fame, fortune, and a few good gigs in Los Angeles. Her style
can be described as Ann Wilson meets Joni Mitchell, and both her voice and
songs possess depth and resonance. http://annettesummersett.com

9:30 Louden Swain-With influences ranging from The Cars and The Ramones to
the Foo Fighters and Weezer, Louden Swain crafts catchy rock riffs iced with
witty lyrics to create songs that simultaneously put you in a full nelson
and give you a wink. You’ll hear all of the above on their latest CD,
Overachiever. www.LoudenSwain.com

10:15 I-94-An amazing band led by Mark Arnell and Danny Martin who were the
main men of Bottlefly, whose CD on Universal Records was simply superb!
I-94’s list of influences range from The Beatles to Soundgarden and their
songs, fronted by Arnell’s extremely rich and expressive vocals, are not to
be missed! Their brand new CD, Out There, is available at CD Baby!

11:00 Buva-Their EP, Daydream, has been described as "Todd
Rundgren-meets-Jellyfish-meets nobody else ear-candy?". How cool is that??
Buva's songs have been in regular rotation on KCRW and have been featured on
the show The OC! If Buva is even half as good live as is their EP, we're in
for a treat! Look for a full-length CD later this year. www.buvaphonic.com

Admission for the show is $5. The Scene is located at 806 East Colorado St.
in Glendale. It's a 21+ club. Their phone is 818
241-7029, and their website is www.thescenebar.com.

Hey, you can go to IPO Presents and still have time to make it to your local
post office by the midnight deadline! We hope to see you there (at the
show, not the post office). :-)
