I sometimes wish I'd taken this path, although I
wasn't sure it was the path for me when I was
in my 20s -- I did work at a small newspaper
(one of the Scripps-Howard papers in Orange
County, CA), and used to talk to the people
in Editorial who were all pretty miserable as I
recall (I worked as a courier between the
satellite offices and the main offices), and I
think that probably had something to do with
me switching from a Journalism major to (gulp!)
a Creative Writing major in college...
