I was just reading that the Postal Service's 'Give Up'
album (Sub Pop), which came out over a year ago,
in mid-February 2003, is the second biggest shipped
record in Sub Pop's history (beating Hot Hot Heat,
Sunny Day Real Estate, Reverend Horton Heat,
Mudhoney, Soundgarden, etc...)...but even more
amazing, perhaps, is that its strongest sales (outside
of the weeks before and after Christmas) have all
been in the last month. So far, it has scanned over
211,000 copies. That's fantastic...good job SubPop!,
and congratulations to the Postal Service.
