hey everyone,

I somehow managed to get myself to Jersey this weekend
for the CD release party for 'Who's Not Forgotten-A
Tribute to The WHO' from Face Down Records. I also
got to check out how nifty a space Conduit in Trenton
is. It's in an interesting location, but totally has
tons of potential with the Sovereign Bank Arena across
the street and the new light rail nearby. GBV is
playing there later in April! Should be a very cool
venue for GBV fans.

Cordalene and The Commons did their usual set but
included the song they each recorded for the tribute.
Then The Dipsomaniacs and Taggart treated us to
NOTHING but The WHO, including parts of the operas!
I'm still spinning from all the windmills we saw on
stage! I was also reminded of back when I was a kid,
I'm thinking I was maybe 7, so that would make it
around 1979 when I remember watching TOMMY on TV, more
than once. I know the film came out in 1975, but I
don't know when it was first on TV. Anyhow, all I
know is that I remember it being really strange but
mesmerizing. The fact that we were allowed to watch
it numerous times, really surprises me, but I guess my
parents were pretty damn cool back then.

Baba O'Riley, Bargain, and Behind Blue Eyes are all
still in my head (and many more), and I think after
Taggart's set we all may have needed to benefit from
H.E.A.R.!

ALL proceeds of the sales of the tribute CD go to
H.E.A.R. (Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers)
For Philly area fans, another CD release party is
planned for April 9th at Khyber.
featuring - Steve Brown (The Rigbees), Grandfabric,
Cordalene, Taggart, Dipsomaniacs, and a ton of Who
songs.

you can get all the info. on everything here:

and lastly, per usual, I have to get a plug in for
Carroway (hey, they do some kick ass versions of
'Squeeze Box' and 'I Can't Explain') check out the
new mp3 on their website:

http://www.carrowaymusic.com

It's in the downloads/b-sides section, and it's called
'Never Had' and is a DEMO recorded in their practice
space (aka the basement) and it sounds amazing! a
great sound for the weather we've been having here in
Northern VA and most of the Northeast. I think I've
listened to it a million times since it went up on
Thursday and is now on a cd-r!

ok, I guess that's all for now.
Lauree
