EMI bought Sparrow in the early 90's when Christian music was red-hot and the
majors wanted a piece of the action. Sony also bought Word Records around the
same time. Forefront started as a Christian Rock label in the mid 80's first
distributed by Benson music in Nashville (now owned by Zomba) and later by
Sparrow. Interesting that EMI didnt incorporate all their Christian labels at
the beginning.
