Career Records is pleased as punch to announce the arrival of two long
awaited releases from Roy Loney And The Longshots "Drunkard In In The
Think Tank" and Deniz Tek-Scott Morgan "3 Assassins".
Roy's second studio album with the Longshots; a Seattle all-star line up
featuring Scott McCaughey and the Young Fresh Fellows, Joey Kline, Kevin
Lee from Bum, and Graham from The Model Rockets, rip through the albums
thirteen tracks. To make things even better Roy has given us three bonus
tracks, including the previously unreleased "Unoriginal Sin".
Roy Loney made his debut with the Flamin' Groovies in 1968. He appeared
on the 10" mini album Sneakers and the first three albums : Supersnazz,
Flamingo and Teenage Head. In 1977 Roy returned to the stage with the
highly acclaimed Phantom Movers, releasing a string of highly sought
after records. After a brief fling with the A-Bones, Roy headed up to
the Great Northwest and formed the alliance with the Longshots in 1992.
Their first album, "Full Grown Head" appeared in 1994 and the Spanish
only live album "Kick Out The Hammmons" was released soon after.
After several years of speculation, Roy has decided to jump on the
Career band wagon for his first record of the century.
Roy Loney And The Longshots will be playing selected gigs in support of
this release with label mates Donovan's Brain and Penny Ikinger;
29 April - The Brickyard, Vancouver, BC
30 April - 3B, Bellingham, WA
1 May - Sunset Tavern, Seattle, WA
2 May - Music Millennium, Portland, OR
The second part of this all rockin' release is "3 Assassins" a live
collaboration between Radio Birdman's Deniz Tek and Scott Morgan, a man
of many bands (Rationals, Sonic's Rendezvous Band, Powertrane,
Hydromatics). These old friends were joined on this tour by A-10 the
back line of the fantastic Italian band Sonic Assassins.
This three guitar line up burns through 14 songs from Scott and Deniz'
catalog as well as two Stooges covers. The album originates from two
stops on the spring 2001 tour of Italy and France. Originally booked as
a Deniz Tek solo tour, the Iceman invited Scott along for the ride. The
results are nothing short of stunning. The driving rhythm section push
the front men to some spectacular moments.
Both "3 Assassins" and "Drunkard In The Think Tank" are now available
from Career Records mail order and fine record shops around the world.
