Trooper has the distinction of being the first Canadian band to ever sell a
million copies of a greatest hits package in this country (I
believe....Ralph? Confirm? Deny?) -- it's up around the 12,000,000 mark
now....not bad for a country with 35,000,000 people. [that's right...even
more than The Guess Who and BTO. But then, this is also a country that made
Nazareth's greatest hits the first international act to sell a million
copies in this country (yes, even before the Eagles hits Volume 1].
Anyway, Trooper is still touring their hits to this day....have had the
pleasure of performing in an opening act for them twice in the past. Nice
bunch of guys whom the industry completely dismissed (they released 7 studio
albums with MCA; one with RCA; 2 with Warners)...despite the above
achievement.
Still heavy airplay on "Raise A Little Hell", "Here For A Good Time", "Two
For The Show", "Boys In The Bright White Sports Car", etc.
