kinks keyboardist Ian Gibbons is a guest on the next Kimberley Rew
solo cd coming maybe this year!
add kim to that kinks list!
at one point, i wanted to cover a Kinks track on every cd i did,
having tackled "ring the bells" and
"i'll remember" thus far...
one of the best shows i've ever seen was The Kinks at massey hall in
Toronto during one of their
80s tours - they weren't really promoting a new lp, no stage props or
anything, maybe even using the house PA,
i can't remember.... but because ray davies is such an old school
showman, none of that mattered, i was
blown away by his stage craft...
having seen his solo Storyteller show twice... he is finally in his
element at last, I thought....
and his "Art Lover" performance on Saturday Night Live was ... spectacular!
it's amazing that it's still in my mind after all these years and so
many other performances are not.....
