Off the top of my head, have you listened to Green Day's INSOMNIAC or
NIMROD? It's a little eerie in places just how well Billie Joe was
paying attention to Davies.
Although in general I would agree with you that The Kinks probably
haven't exerted the massive "direct lineage" kind of influence of the
Fabs, Stones, Faces, Stooges, VU, etc. Which is a shame.
