>Huey Lewis & the News
Whoa - despite crap like "Stuck With You", "The Heart Of Rock and Roll" and
"Hip to be Square" I have to retrort and say Huey and his band didnt suck. Saw
them in Tulsa in 1984 and they put on a great show. A very tight and honest
bar
band made good - no phonys. And they are still playing all the time.
Brownie points for Huey re-locating to the UK in the 70's, being a member of
Clover and appearing on Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe's albums. Thier first 3
albums did have some fine pop moments like "Some Of My Lies Are True", "Change
Of Heart', "The Only One" and I still like the harmonies on "If This Is It".
>Hall & Oates
Most of thier RCA albums were very spotty. I still love John Oates "Friday Let
Me Down" from "Private Eyes" - a piece of sublime early 80's Power Pop. Its a
great mix tape/CD "who is this" song to fake out your freinds.
