when i was on vacation, and i said "he looks
fabulous." and i said, "i've never seen him live."
(there's a LOT of people i've never seen live: sting,
s&g, james brown, aretha, al green, paul mccartney,
bruce, elvis, tom waits, and the list just goes on and
on and on --- these are just people who have come
through chicago and i've thought, hmmm. i just don't
have that kind of cash...) but i thought seeing the
small bit of the r&rhof thing, man. if i get the
chance, i NEED to see prince.
i liked the thing about mentors and friends not being
on your payroll. geez. i'd love to HAVE a payroll one
day.
