According to an interview I heard over the weekend with Mason,
Capaldi and Winwood wanted him to play bass on the Traffic cut like
he did on the original recording. Mason indicated that he's not a
bass player and didn't want to get up there and stumble over the part
and make himself AND the band look bad, so he refused to take part.
