I saw the Pernice Brothers in Manchester (UK) a couple of weeks ago, and they were simply fantastic.

It was the smallest venue at the University and there were about 100-120 people in the audience.

The band was basically Joe and Peyton Pinkerton (Still the best name in soft rock according to Joe) plus a couple of (non-Pernice!!) brothers on keyboards/guitar and drums. They were only young guys and the younger brother lives in London, and joined on drums just for the UK leg.

Anyhoo, great set (something from all albums plus a couple of Scud Mountain Boys songs) in a semi-acoustic style, nice banter with the enthusiastic crowd, and a fine evening had by all.

Support was from The Belles. They were Ok, but The Bigger Lovers would have been great. Excellent new album IMO, giving them a hat-trick of excellent CDs.

Mike.
