Was that a Mark Farner look-alike playing with Bob Seger, or was that
Farner? The drummer looked like Don Brewer, and I know Craig Frost plays
keyboards...is that Michigan's idea of the Witness Protection Program for
Grand Funk? Where was Mel - bagged and gagged in a dumpster?

Seger apparently had no need for the bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacter when
he sent out the call for the wild, shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner and the
competent drumming of Don Brewer.

I always think I hate Bob Seger, but then when they cruise through the
montage of his songs I forget how many of them I actually like. Although
"Old Time Rock and Roll" is on my list of songs I never have to hear again.

No, it's that damned "Like A Rock" that is the official piped-in tune in the
waiting room of Hell. C'mon, Chevrolet, get a new pickup-truck jingle,
already.

His son (Dahni??) looks so much him, it's scary. Yes, Prince's solo was
incredible, but a little "show boaty"....but, after all, he is Prince! I
think it's in his genes to be that way. BTW, did anyone else notice that
after ending both his first set and at the end of WMGGW, Prince threw his
guitar up in the air and quickly walked away, but the guitar never seemed to
fall to Earth. Was this just quick editing or is he using gravity defying
guitars? Or highly trained guitar catchers?

Prince was on Leno tonight, doing an elegant and exquisitely-choreographed
version of "Musicology". At the end, he danced across the set and over to
Leno's desk, tossing his Telecaster to a waiting stagehand without missing a
step. It was a masterful bit of superstar theater -- like watching Sinatra
throw his jacket over his shoulder, light a cig, and stride offstage with
the band still playing behind him.
