I vaguely remember an article in HOME RECORDING magazine a few years back
about an artist's experience w/ TAXI. TAXI did seem to help get the artist
airplay (i believe in some small markets). TAXI was giving radio stations promo boom
boxes. In some cases the radio stations wanted *more* boom boxes in order to
get the artist in play rotation. The cost of those promos was billed to the
artist....above and beyond his original fee....ouch... This was designed to
generate sales. I believe he fell short of breaking even.

After reading that i felt lucky that there are folks like NOTLAME, JAM, AND
KOOLKAT!

I don't remember the artist hooking up w/ publisher or songs taken up by big
name acts.

AND YES, THIS ARTICLE SAYS IT WELL

thanks for posting it.
