I read in Friday's Baltimore Sun that Adam Schlesinger from the Fountains of Wayne will compose the score for "Cry Baby," the next John Waters movie to be turned into a Broadway musical. Lyrics will be written by David Javerbaum, the Emmy Award winning head writer for The Daily Show. John Waters (local Baltimore hero) explained that the pair submitted two songs: "One Tear" and "Girl, Can I Kiss You With My Tongue?" and said of the latter, "That one won my heart." They're aiming for a spring 2006 Broadway opening.

Gary "Pig" Gold wrote a nice review of last night's Jersey City performance by The Miscreants, a new garage combo featuring Blair Buscareno. I was thrilled to hear these comments, as he is one of my oldest and best friends. I met Blair about 20 years ago at a Mosquitos concert in Huntington, NY and we've spent many evenings together watching great bands play sweaty, fun rock & roll. I haven't seen his band yet, but can't wait to see what they've put together. If you get a chance, go out and support them!

BTW, when are The Monkees going to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?

Be seeing you,
Bill
