I remember a classroom discussion of a song from the early sixties in that
movie where Richard Dreyfuss plays a music teacher - "Mr. Holland's Opus" -
I believe the song is titled "Lover's Concerto", by the Toys(?). (Not sure
if this is the right name and artist, I'm just going by my often poor
memory...) If you heard the tune you'd recognize it in an instant!

I was thinking about the classical music thread last night and began to
formulate a short list of pop stuff based on classical music.
So far, I could only come up with Eric Carmen's 1-2 Punch of Rachmaninoff
based gems, "All By Myself" (Piano Concerto No. 2) and "Never Gonna Fall In
Love Again" (Symphony No. 2) and Billy Joel's "This Night" (Beethoven
"Pathetique" Sonata No. 8). >>>>
