Hey folks,

Just returned from the first club show on the new Owsley tour. It was a
almost-capacity crowd at the Fine Line in Minneapolis, and Will seemed
thrilled with the turnout. I was surprised how many hardcore fans were in
the audience.

Millard Powers of The Semantics was playing bass. They had a keyboardist
named Jonathan who played mostly Hammond organ parts, and occasional piano
lines. The drummer was EXCELLENT and from Minneapolis, but I didn't catch
his name. Everyone but the drummer sang, and the harmonies were excellent.
Also, the guy who mixed the new record was flown in to mix the live show,
and it was one of the best sounding shows I've ever heard at the Fine Line.
Apparently the band got to town yesterday, rented a rehearsal space, and
practiced for the tour. Will also said that our local radio station Drive
105 had him go into a studio to record a few acoustic versions of his songs
that they plan to play on the air in the future.

Owsley's new CD was on sale at the merch table for only $10! What a bargain.
I've never seen a national act sell their CDs so cheap at a show!

Here's the setlist:

She's the One
Oh No The Radio
Dude (Will announced that this is his favorite from the new CD)
Coming Up Roses (the audience is invited to sing Na Nas at the end)
Zavelow House
Undone
Rise
The Hard Way (played solo acoustic)
Old School (Steely Dan cover song. It was AMAZING. Beautiful. Will said they
want to do a very complex classic rock cover song at each show, like this
one, or Band on the Run, or something by Peter Frampton)
Down
Rainy Day People (Will said that this was the first song he wrote for the
new CD)
Be The One
+++++++++++++
Encore: Good Old Days (featuring a HUGE long solo at the end...fabulous!)

During the show someone in the audience asked to hear "I'm Alright" and Will
responed that no, he won't play that song, he hated it, and he's sorry he
wrote it. I couldn't tell if he was kidding or not.

It was a great performance and the band was clearly having a blast.
Hopefully his success on these few radio stations can lead to bigger things
for him!
