Hey all,
I just wanted to send a public congratulations to Andrea Kremer, whose first
installment of the BOSTON POP UNDERGROUND series (with the Candy Butchers) was
a smashing success. The show sold out the intimate Lizard Lounge last night,
and definitely achieved the type of fun, casual, communal atmosphere that she
was shooting for. Not only were the acts very "on" last night (though I did
have to miss Jed Parish, formerly of the Gravel Pit, because I had to get home),
but the audience was filled with the pop elite, including local hero Brett
Rosenberg (one of my own favorites), Cliff Hillis, and more.
I apologize that I didn't get to say hi to any auditeers in the audience
(Beth, I saw you and Cliff there but I tend to be shy at these things, plus it
seems weird to circulate the room and introduce myself to people whose albums
I've reviewed) but I had a smashing time anyway, and surely will try and attend
some of the nights featuring artists that I'm less familiar with.
