At least in the greater Boston area, I'm entirely happy with WMBR and WERS,
two fine college stations, and occasional creeps up the dial to The River
and the vastly-improved WFNX, which has spearheaded the move into "classic
alternative," playing about 40% old college radio hits and 60% stuff along
the lines of the White Stripes and the Polyphonic Spree. Otherwise, I'm
all about a handy little device manufactured by the Belkin corporation that
broadcasts your iPod over your car radio: who needs internet or satellite
radio then?
