There was talk a few months back about a new station
in L.A. called Indie 103. I have to say, as
embarrassing as it is (we usually listen to excellent
local college station KXLU) this new station holds my
attention longer than most.
They play Interpol, The Shins, The Thrills, BRENDAN
BENSON, Jellyfish...all kinds of stuff. I've heard
new stuff that I eventually went out and bought, just
like the old days!
They are still a little low on the charts, but there
is a big buzz, especially in the mid 20-mid 30 demo.
Not sure how coveted we are...but we spend money,
that's for sure.
I was trying to find a website or playlist but gave up
because I'm hungry.
My point is...there is hope.
Oh, and for Andrea, XM Satellite radio can stream in
the car, and they have some excellent programming.
Unfortunately, I think it's a $10 monthly charge to
subscribe. Would be good for a road trip, though...
