I totally agree!
I listen to both somewhat regularly, and yes WOXY is
going to a complete online format sometime in May I
believe.

recently though, I've been 'tuned' into KCUV out of
Colorado for the Americana side of things. It's a
newer AM station, http://www.kcuvradio.com for those
interested in americana, alt-country, etc.

the only local station I listen to around DC/Arlington
is DC101 on Sunday nights for the Local Lix program,
since I've been pushing Carroway on them. It's been a
major victory for local music, since I've moved here,
Local Lix program has moved from Tuesday nights at
midnight to Sundays at 11pm, and now Sundays at 9pm!
granted I don't like what they play most of the time,
and am not always keen on the local bands of the area,
but they are making attempts to support local DC music
which is better than I can say for most corporate
stations.

if I had the money, I'd start my own too.
