this ones easy for me, because the first gbv i heard i hated. now they're
one of my favorite bands and one of my major songwriting influences. its a
give/take 50/50 kinda thing.. you either love or hate. the 4-track stuff is
wild, but i really prefer a lot of their more produced unless the song is
AMAZING. that's really what it's all about with gbv. the song.
definitely get the compilation they just put out, "human amusement at hourly
rates" - opt for the new lp too, earthquake glue, but my favorite songs will
probably always be, amongst others,
bulldog skin***
chasing heather crazy
everywhere with helicopter
tractor rape chain
i am a tree***
teenage fbi
things that i will keep
my kind of soldier
etc, etc. there are a billion more. many of which are at the beginning or
middle of that best of kinda album, human amusement.
but im sure youll get a lot more great advice on the amazing gbv.
