hi pop friends!

my favorite living band, the high llamas, are playing at the triple rock
social club here in minneapolis tonight. doors open at 10:00 with two opening
acts. it'd be a blast to meet some minneapolis auditeers there tonight if their
music appeals to you.

i'll be the skinny, balding, grey dude in the leather jacket wearing buddy
holly glasses holding a guinness if you're interested in sayin' howdy.

to make this post pertain to more than just fellow minnesotan pop fans --
would anybody like me to post a review of the show? it won't exactly be an
unbiased review, i'm terrible with the names of sean o'hagan's songs (though i know
which album every song is from!), but you'll hopefully get the gist of the
evening.

i'm hoping the guys play a lot of tunes from "beet, maise and corn." it's
becoming my favorite high llamas cd. and that kinda spooks me in a good
way..."hawaii" is my second all-time fave right behind "pet sounds." not that i'm
locked in on any particular sound or anything. ;)

peace and love!
mark flora --- who is VERY excited about brian wilson and friends performing
"smile". thanks for all the links and posts about that! i may be a lurker for
the most part, but reading the digests is a daily ritual!
