~~~gosh, i remember them from high school when i had a
super christian best friend. hard to explain what i
mean by that except for she only listened to christian
music, and since we were pretty much inseparable, i
sort of did, too.
since at that time, i was a LONG way from having any
idea of rock beyond what was on the 'top 40,'  and was
languishing in michael bolton and whitney houston
land, i think i remember thinking they were sort of
'harder,' ala degarmo and key, another christian band
of that time. (i definitely couldn't do the 'stryper'
deal...way too "heavy"!  LOL.)
so, to hear you say petra is like queen is interesting
to me.  i would be interested to hear them given my
history/tastes in music now.  since i now can listen
to something like nirvana and not think that it's too
'hard,' i'd bet petra would sound a lot different.  in
retrospect, i know that listening to stuff like poison
and whitesnake sure sounds a lot different now than it
did then.
heard of petra, don't remember much about it except
for at that time in my life i was more into amy grant
and michael w. smith,
