Hi Everyone,

I wanted to remind you that the next International Pop Overthrow Presents
will happen on Thursday, February 19 at The Scene, and will start at 8:00
sharp! Here's the lineup:

8:00 H. Dumpty: A new band led by Jasmine, who was the main force behind the
excellent Los Angeles combos The Otterpops and the Swedes. H. Dumpty
promises to deliver the same power-packed melodic rock 'n roll punch of
Jasmine's previous bands, so if you like that kind of sound (and we know you
do), you'll surely enjoy H. Dumpty!

8:45 Anton Barbeau: If you look up the word "quirky" in the dictionary
you'll see a picture of Anton, but that adjective hardly does justice to the
craft of this Sacramento gentleman. His latest disc, Guladong, is replete
with that wacky Hitchcockian (that's Robyn, not Alfred!) genius which has
made him a delightful enigma for many years! www.antonbarbeau.com

9:30 Kristi Callan: The eminent songstress whose bands Wednesday Week and
Lucky were extremely beloved. Callan is the possessor of one of the most
beautiful voices in this scene, and her songwriting is filled with both
passion and depth. Check out her latest CD, Feed The Kitty.

10:15 The Syrups: One of the tightest, most professional bands in Los
Angeles led by the irrepressibly dynamic Orion Walton. Their self-titled CD
(produced by the legendary Abbey Road helmsman, Geoff Emerick) is
resplendent in sparkling Everly Brothers harmonies and will make you imagine
what Phil and Don Everly might be doing had they been born 35 years later,
with a little Squeeze and Elvis Costello thrown in for taste!

can reach The Syrups at orion@thesyrups.com)

11:15 The Flair: I first saw this band a few months ago when they opened for
Colin Blunstone & Rod Argent (of The Zombies) at The Knitting Factory, and I
was extremely impressed with their ultra cool brand of mod influenced
psychedelic pop! They've been busy recording tunes for their upcoming CD,
and if it's anywhere near as good as their live performance, we'll all be in
for something special! www.theflairdandyrock.com

Admission is FREE! The Scene is a 21 and over venue, and is located at 806
Colorado St. in Glendale, California. Their website is www.thescenebar.com
and their phone is 818 241-7029.

We hope to see you there!
