Fair enough -- if it's true that his label worked out a deal with Best Buy that he personally approved of, then even though he's right about big-box retailers, that's a completely hypocritical stance to take and he certainly loses credibility. I'm suspicious only because that's a pretty big loss of cred, considering how he continues to stick his neck out in public on these issues, and he doesn't appear to be a moron. I'd like to hear what he'd say about this.
As for doing something useful, it seems to me that his RAC/Recording Artists Coalition is a step in the right direction, at least in terms of a platform to mobilize artists in demanding a fair deal from the industry.
