Yep, I'll second Gary's news that Pier Platters is long gone. Another
Hoboken option though is Tunes (which has several NJ locations), on
Washington St (the main drag) between 3rd and 4th. Not too deep in
back-catalog, but well-chosen stock, and frequent finds of cutouts or
used discs at a great price. Even the full-price stuff is
cheaper-than-average -- new CDs typically go for $13, not the $18 (or
however high it's gotten now) that Virgin, Tower, or HMV hit you for.
